Using trumpet, clarinet, soprano and tenor saxophones, trombone, banjo, and tuba, the River City Ragtime Band provides an unapologetically raucous, boisterous, and sometimes humorous performance of popular Christmas melodies.

Applying the Dixieland style to Christmas music is not sacrilegious.  In fact, when the music was played to a minister, he suggested that the River City Ragtime Band was fulfilling the Biblical edict:  "Make a Joyful Noise Until the Lord, All Ye Lands."  The River City Ragtime Band interprets the word "Lands" to include "Bands."

The Dixieland music played by the River City Ragtime Band is authentic and creates the style of Dixieland that was played by earthy jazzsters decades ago.
